FAQs- OUTDOOR CHILDREN/FAMILY SESSION

What time of year is best for outdoor photos?

Because we live in a paradise called San Diego, we can book outdoor sessions pretty much all year round.   Depending on the look you are going for in terms of wardrobe, it’s important to keep in mind the heat in the months of July through September. These months can be pretty warm but also offer gorgeous sunlight.  October through December will give you some pretty fall foliage with outfit choices that have more long sleeves, layers, and warm tones. It is up to you to pick a month you like and suits your preference.

What time of the day would the session be?

We prefer to photograph outdoor sessions during  the “Golden Hour”.  Sessions begin about 90 minutes before sunset to give the most beautiful and flattering lighting.  If you have young children with early bedtimes, it’s best to have your session in the fall when the sun sets earlier.

What if it rains?

We will reschedule your session for the next possible available date.

What if my children won’t cooperate?

Don’t worry about that!  As long as they are well rested and bellies are full, we can handle the rest!  I provide a calm environment for your children and will let them get comfortable on their own.  If they take a little longer to loosen up, I will be happy to wait.

Where do we go for outdoor photos?

We have  a few spots that we like to go to that are within San Diego County.  Places that we have lots of great light and a nice variety of backdrops. We are also open to location ideas if you prefer a place that you love. Just let us know if you prefer the session at the Beach or at a Park with lots of green and we can give you some choices to pick.

What happens after the session?

Once your session is over, I will begin editing your photos.  Within 2 weeks, you will receive an online gallery of about 30 images to choose from.  The gallery will be password protected and remains active for 5 days while you choose your favorite images.  I am always available to help you choose sizes and types of prints to suit your style.
