Hi, I’m Lenara

I’m an accountant, bookkeeper, educator, and the founder of Simple Books with Lenara.

I started working in bookkeeping when I was 18 years old, and over the years I’ve built a career in accounting, financial management, and business operations. Today, I work as a Controller and also teach Financial Accounting at the college level. What I’ve learned throughout my career is that bookkeeping does not have to feel complicated. Many small business owners are great at what they do, but when it comes to bookkeeping, QuickBooks, financial reports, or simply knowing where their money is going, they can feel overwhelmed. That’s why I created Simple Books with Lenara. My goal is to take bookkeeping concepts that can feel confusing and explain them in a simple, practical way. Whether I’m helping you organize your books, set up QuickBooks, clean up past transactions, or teaching you how to manage your bookkeeping yourself, I want you to feel more confident and in control of your business finances. I believe good bookkeeping is about more than entering numbers. It gives you a clearer picture of your business, helps you make better decisions, and gives you peace of mind knowing your financial records are organized.

I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of North Florida and an MBA with an emphasis in Accounting from Webster University.

My professional experience includes more than 20 years working in bookkeeping, accounting, and financial management.

Along with working in accounting, I also teach Financial Accounting, which has strengthened one of my favorite parts of what I do: making accounting easier for people to understand
